5 Simple Hand Exercises to Help With Joint Pain and Arthritis

  1. Stress Ball Warm-Up: Use a stress ball to clench and unclench your fist to warm up the joints.
  2. Warm Water Fist Clenches: Submerge your hands in hot but comfortable water. Clench then unclench your fist.
  3. Finger Joint Stretch: Pull on each finger with your opposite hand. If you hear a pop, this is normal and healthy.
  4. Wrist Range of Motion Stretch: Stretch your wrist with the opposite hand. This will increase range of motion.
  5. Finger Lifts: Place your palm flat on a table. Lift each finger slowly off the table one at a time.
