5 Basic Joint Lubricating Movements

Get started on your joint workout by warming up the key areas that are affected by joint pain. Warming up these targets will increase the surrounding fluid, alleviate stiffness, and reduce pain.

  1. Ankles: Rotate your suspended ankles in a circular motion in one direction and then the other.
  2. Knees: Lift one leg off the floor, bending the knee. Straight and then re-bend the knee. Repeat with the other leg.
  3. Hips: Anchor one foot into the ground for support and lift the opposite knee straight forward. Start by rotating the knee out to the side and back to front in a circular motion. Switch to the opposite direction then repeat on the other leg.

  5. Wrists: Rotate both wrists in a circular motion. Try flexing one wrist back with the other for an additional stretch.
